Little Leigh VE/VJ Celebration Event

On one of the hottest days of the year, Little Leigh celebrated VE/VJ Day. Many people turned out to remember and celebrate. For the children there were lots of old fashioned entertainments like "Treasure Island", "Guess Winston's Birthday", "Roll the coin" and "Splat the Rat" as well as the current craze of "Scoobies". There was a fancy dress competition for the children and also relay races held on the car park.

Other entertainments included a tombola, Red, White and Blue stall and old-time music hall piano playing - including a sing-a-long at the end of the afternoon of "We'll Meet Again" and "Lambeth Walk". There would've been more, but the raffle needed to be drawn!
